Yoga Retreats

This is a range of workshops to expand and deepen our understanding of yoga. In a class situation we often only get to practice postures, yet yoga has an insightful, practical and fascinating body of knowledge regarding the workings of the mind and the soul, as relevant today as it was 4,000 years ago.

Each Yoga Retreat involves yoga classes, relaxation, meditation, some periods of silence, and guided walks. The structure of each workshop is the same, but different themes are focussed on each weekend.

Two-day retreats have 5 yoga sessions. Three-day retreats have 7 yoga sessions. Four-day retreats have 9 or more yoga sessions. Free time between yoga sessions allows guests to rest and explore. Class sizes are kept small and students of all levels of experience are welcome. If there are areas of particular interest or special needs, i.e. injuries or pregnancy, please let us know in advance so we are able to better tailor the program to suit you.

Home-cooked, delicious, inspiring vegetarian meals are provided, beginning with Friday night dinner. Special diets are catered for.

The retreats are held at Clearview Retreat, a residential retreat centre ninety minutes north of Melbourne in the King Parrot Valley in central Victoria. Clearview Retreat backs onto the Tallarook forest and ranges, with immense views 100 kilometres across to Mount Buller and other spectacular mountain ranges.

Each yoga retreat is limited to small numbers of people (8 max).

Aligning Heart, Mind and Body
…with Antonia Pont

Fri evening 6 - Mon afternoon 9 March 2026 (3-day long weekend retreat)

This 3-day retreat will allow for a restful but active exploration of one’s own middle, or unique alignment. Engaging in practices that invite a gradual recalibration of the heart, mind and physical body, this retreat offers a space to reharmonise and reset using the reliable techniques and curriculum of Vijnana Yoga. Embarking on the physical practices of asana (poses), alongside sitting meditation, pranayama (breath work), and study — in the midst of the peaceful surrounds of Clearview Retreat — each participant has time to meet themselves kindly where they are at. This respect then supports an ability to listen without reactivity to our memories and inner longing. Via yoga practice across several days, we will build fortitude, steadiness and capacity, clarifying and moving towards wished-for directions and more nourishing possibilities.

Thurs evening 2 - Mon afternoon 6 April 2026 (4-day Easter retreat)

We all deserve time to step out of daily habits and routines, space for rest, space to let the clutter of the mind fall away…exposing our true nature of connection, play, joy and peace. Relaxed and nurtured, our natural clarity and centre surfaces; we again feel connected and purposeful, vital in body and mind. This retreat will guide you on this journey, giving the gifts of slowing down, play and gentle reflection. You will be expertly guided through a course of gentle restorative/yin yoga practices (lightly structured through the 5-element model of earth, wood, fire, water and metal) that are sprinkled with massage to enhance the release. The retreat program is highlighted with Yoga Nidra Meditation, gentle morning yoga-flow, sound meditation, nature walks and a personal massage for each retreatant. The collection of practices initiates a shift of energy to clear out that which is stuck or stagnant, creating space for new inspiration and personal freedom.

Gift Yourself: Yoga for Renewal and Reinvigoration
…with Joanna Nation

Fri evening 29 - Sun afternoon 31 May 2026 (2-day retreat)

Are you feeling the call for a renewed sense of self and a reinvigoration of your energy? Our energy, or vitality, can also be described with the Sanskrit term Prāṇa; the vibration of our natural world and the air we breathe holds this gift of Prāṇa. This retreat is designed to nourish the nervous system, rebuild from the ground up and reignite our light through an engagement with breath and nature, thus to Prāṇa. Slowing down, becoming more aware in the moment and appreciating a deeper connection to self also cultivates a feeling of regeneration, which this carefully crafted weekend retreat aims to gift you. We will utilise the lineage of Kundalini Yoga - with its unique combination of Prāṇayama (breathwork), mantra, mudra, meditation and repetitive rhythmic movement - to boost our energy reserves and healing capacity. Alongside Kundalini will be the restorative practices of Yin and Yoga Nidra to also provide an opportunity for relaxation throughout our weekend's journey.
*No prior experience in Kundalini Yoga is required.

Invitation to Reset
…with Antonia Pont

Fri evening 28 May - Sun afternoon 30 May 2027 (2-day retreat)

This retreat coincides with the time of year when we can long for a reset. Our working rhythms can have settled in too deeply, and we long for a broader vista to observe our situation, clarify direction and appreciate our life and relationships. By immersing ourselves for a few days in the reliable and nourishing practices of Vijnana Yoga (sitting, breathing, moving, resting and contemplating), we will rest, rediscover our mental and physical playfulness, and recalibrate the body's cycles. Moving, eating well and being close to forest will set us back into calm relation with ourselves, so we can cultivate more ably the situations, heart-states and futures that include us. Suitable for practitioners with some experience.
